“Google Now” gets you just the right information at just the right time. With the launch of Siri last year, Apple underscored the potential for our devices to act as personal digital assistants, even if the company's marketing got a little ahead of the voice-recognition service's abilities. organizations are also busy enhancing the abilities of computers to respond to and even anticipate our needs. In all cases, the firms are employing sophisticated artificial intelligence software that acts and communicates more like a human assistant. Google Now is a lot more impressive than Siri. Google Now fills in all the gaps left by Siri, and does pretty much everything else a whole lot better. Android is taking into account the time and location set in your calendar, your location based on the device's GPS or Wi-Fi signals, the approximate length of your trip based on its maps tool and the current time. It's processing at least four disparate pieces of data into one useful result, relevant at that precise moment based on something you might have keyed into your calendar a month ago. Google and its hardware and carrier partners are notoriously awful at providing timely updates for Android devices. Apple doesn't promote Siri as a beta product. Google Now is baked into Google's search app. When it's open, it will surface all kinds of cards with information that might be relevant at a given moment. Check out the Google Now video below:
